TREATMENT

Program Overview

New Directions offers a structured residential treatment program designed to support lasting recovery. The core program is 90 days in length, though longer stays are available depending on individual needs.

Rooted in the principles of the 12 Steps, our program addresses far more than substance use disorder alone. Many individuals begin struggling with addiction at an early age, which often interrupts emotional growth and development. Our approach helps clients rebuild those foundations while working toward a healthy, productive life.

Although New Directions is a non-religious, 12 Step–based program, we provide as many options as possible to support successful recovery. The on-site Fellowship Church, led by Pastor William David Hanley, offers spiritual encouragement and guidance for participants who wish to include faith-based support in their journey.

  • Relapse prevention strategies

  • Individualized treatment planning

  • Building healthy relationships with family, friends, and employers

  • Parenting and nutrition education

  • Academic support and education enhancement

  • Domestic violence awareness and prevention

  • Employment readiness training

  • Vocational training connections

  • Family reunification support

  • Other life and recovery skills

Program Structure

  • Residential Environment: The program operates 24 hours a day, year-round, with separate facilities for men and women. We serve up to 65 participants at a time.

  • Open, Not Locked: While New Directions is not a locked or secure facility, participants are required to remain on campus unless attending essential appointments (such as court, medical, or legal matters). Appointments offsite are limited to four hours and must be accompanied by an escort.

  • Initial Phase: During the first 30 days, all offsite appointments require staff accompaniment.

  • Communication: From the start of the program, participants may make phone calls at no cost to them using in-house phones provided by New Directions, and are encouraged to send and receive mail.

Family Support

Family involvement is a vital component of recovery. We actively encourage family participation throughout the treatment process, offering structured opportunities for connection and support. While children may not reside at the facility, they are always welcome to visit during scheduled times.
